THE TEACHERS AND THEIR LESSONS:

Dr DAVID SANDERSON is a composer, lecturer and piano teacher with a wealth of experience in performing, lecturing and teaching ALL styles of music.

During the 1990s he focussed on composing contemporary classical music for the concert hall and had several of his works performed live across the UK (and as far away as Taiwan) by renowned performers such as the Kokoro Ensemble, Gemini and pianist James Clapperton.

Along the way, Dave also completed a PhD in Musical Composition in the summer of 2000 and became a member of the lecturing staff at Exeter University's Music Department at Knightley.

As well as performing in several bands covering many styles, Dave also composed and performed jingle idents for BBC Radio's “Steve Wright In The Afternoon” from 1989 to 2002 (one of which was released as a single and reached No. 62 in the Gallup Charts!!). Although that was many moons ago, the jingles have retained their popularity and still get played on the programme regularly.

In the meantime, Dave has taught piano for fifteen years and continues to enjoy doing so while working on his own personal recording projects. Please visit http://www.myspace.com/davidedwardsanderson for details of his own musical work.

Dave is a highly regarded CRB-checked piano teacher with an exceptional talent for bringing out the unique musicality of his students. He welcomes both children and adult players of all abilities and enjoys teaching in an atmosphere which is relaxed and
most of all - FUN.
